Tuesday Viewsday X
Holy cow! We are already ten weeks into this crazy endeavor and I’m so excited to share these images with all of you. Not only do you get a glimpse at how I work and create, but I’m reminding myself of images and memories that I haven’t thought of in a long while; it’s very cathartic.
So what do you think of Tuesday Viewsday so far? Do you enjoy the segment? Are there any particular images or types you would like to see more of? Drop me a quick comment and let me know!
While not the official title of this piece, I felt it was very fitting for the type of day we had today. Can you believe it’s the first half of March and we hit 71 degrees here in central Illinois? I didn’t even wear a jacket today!
You know what that means, don’t you? Portrait season is right around the corner as is summer, which for this guy means road trips, lots of photos, and playing music with my bands. Not to mention extended periods of sunshine and there ain’t many in the world who can argue with the goodness of sunshine.
What’s that you say? The image? Oh, right!
I snapped this shot a couple of years ago now on a random night after work. It was a beautiful sunny day like today and my hands were getting itchy for my Nikon so I put a text out to some fellow local photographer buddies and my good friend, Stacy Hanna, said she would join me for some shooting up around Spring Bay, Illinois. We met up and drove around looking for a great spot to snap some shots of the Illinois River at sunset.
We were looking for a particular road on the map, but never found it. We settled for the small lagoon right along Spring Bay and, to our surprise, we ended up with some beautiful shots. Well, it all worked out and we shot for about 10 to 15 minutes and then went along our way.
Ah… summertime’s coming… and I can’t wait!
